As a native of Northern Germany, Jan had often seen slate roofs, but he had never seen the stone employed for so many different uses until he arrived in Newfoundland. In this elegant yet contemporary collection, Jan pays homage to the ingenuity and resourcefulness reflected in the province’s many hand-built slate walls.
